Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  • To provide students with a sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve and analyze engineering problems and to prepare them for graduate studies.
  • To develop the ability among students to synthesize data and technical concepts for application to Civil Engineering design and structures.
  • To provide opportunity for students to work as part of teams on multidisciplinary projects.
  • To prepare students to be engineering professionals, innovators or entrepreneurs engaged in technology development, technology deployment, or engineering system implementation in industry.
  • To promote student awareness of the life-long learning and to introduce them to professional ethics and codes of professional practice.
  • To provide students experience with the multifaceted aspects of using computers to solve problems and professional level applications software such as Auto CAD and STAAD.Pro used for design and analysis and to provide for obtaining and the use of information on the world wide web.

  • At the end of the program, students will demonstrate
  • An ability to knowledge in mathematics, science and engineering to solve civil engineering problems.
  • An ability to design and conduct experiments, and analyze & interpret data.
  • An ability to design a system, component or process within realistic constraints that meets desired specifications and requirements.
  • An ability to identify, formulate and solve civil engineering problems.
  • An ability to use modern engineering software tools and equipment to analyze civil engineering problems.
  • the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context as well as demonstrate awareness of contemporary issues.
  • An understanding of their professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • An ability to function effectively individually and in teams, including diverse and multidisciplinary teams, to accomplish a common goal.
  • An ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
  • An understanding of engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects.
